Selection from Herschel in the Spring

The spring 2009 edition of Prairies North magazine arrived this week – a sure a sign that spring is on its way as any.  To help put everyone in the right mood for spring, a set of new pictures has been added to the RHCA’s Roads Less Travelled Gallery.  The new  set, “Herschel in the Spring,” features pictures taken in the spring of 2008 around the small community of Herschel, north west of Rosetown and off highway 31.   The set was contributed by a local photographer, Linda Klassen, who has lived the area her entire life.

Herschel is well known for its beautiful country-side, unique natural history and significant archaeological finds.  The Ancient Echoes Interpretive Centre in Herschel showcases all these unique elements of the area and offers a full-range of  interpretive and educational resources as well as great summer programming.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Leask, one of 100s of new pictures now available through Roads Less Travelled

The RHCA picture gallery “Roads Less Travelled” has been expanded by being linked to RHCA’s Flickr Site.  Now each picture on the gallery is a link to a collection of pictures related to the image.  This increases the number of pictures that can viewed on the gallery from only about 25 to well over 150 and the number of images available will continue to expand as new pictures get added to Flickr.  Since going on-line just over eight months ago, “Roads Less Travelled” has been one of the most popular features on the RHCA website, attracting nearly 2000 visitors,  and now with even more pictures its popularity should grow exponentially!
